Orion Nebula.
Designed by New Zealand artist Paul Hartigan for Orion an electrical energy company, Nebula graces the wall of a downtown substation in Christchurch. The inner neon units are individually switched by a programmable sequential controller, each flashing on and off. Like all art it needs to be seen live. Manufactured and installed by Signtech. |
